Given their children inspired them to start making baby toys and nursery items, it's appropriate that Christine Berry, Helen Blair and Zoe Campbell named their company, Meemoh, after them.
Based in Byron Bay, Australia, Meemoh – named for Mia, Ella, Elijah, Mabel, Oscar and Harry – was born from the frustration the three friends shared as they tried to decorate their children's rooms.
"We found nothing in the Australian commercial market that interested us, so we decided to make our own stuff," Christine said.
"We loved bright '70s colours and Scandinavian finishes; we drew on our favourite images and styles from our own childhoods for further inspiration, and, together, began working on our range," Helen added.
"It also helped that we all came from creative families," said Zoe. "Our mums and nans made us clothes, lampshades from wedding dresses and cute hand-made toys."
"We loved those toys when we were kids, and now our own children play with them; so we know from personal experience how things made by hand and with heart are treasured by children and grown-ups alike."
Making the baby toys by hand also means each one is unique. The hand-sewn faces all vary slightly and Christine, Helen and Zoe are always scouting for funky new fabrics to make them from.
"The shapes of the toys are easy for tiny hands to grab an arm or leg and of course they are soooo cuddly," Zoe said. 
"The Babooshka dolls are a real favourite and as a girl I loved the wooden variety," Helen said.
"But as my girls started to play with dolls and babies, I decided to create a gorgeous fabric one to hug instead and they love them!
"We love seeing people's reaction to the toys, and knowing that they will be a child's special cuddly, which will share lots of special moments for many years to come."
